Our First Meeting
Our first meeting was a resounding success!
No less than 25 people were here to have their questions answered, meet up with others, and show off some very cool hardware. Trevor Marshall brought in a couple of his latest creations (see links below) including a 2.4GHz receiver with audio output - like a Geiger counter for wireless networks! (Can’t wait for more on this, Trevor!)
Frank Keeney showed us a presentation on wireless and demonstrated Kismet. Mike Outmesguine showed his latest map of Los Angeles war driving and demonstrated Netstumbler. The hot topic was security, and scanning for wireless networks. A few of us kept the conversations running until midnight at the local Denny’s.
The meeting was streamed live via the UNWIRED show at the Linux Public Broadcasting Network, http://www.LPBN.org.
